Our Company
MandMDirect has come a long way since its founders Mark Ellis and Martin Churchward joined forces to sell end of line clearance sports products. We now sell fashion and lifestyle brands, as well as sports brands, and have over 1 million active customers. Our website gets over 21 million visits a year.
Our brand is about delivering fantastic brands at incredibly low prices - Up to 75% off the recommended retail prices. We sell menswear, womenswear, kidswear and some homewares too. We have nearly 200 brands in stock, including Adidas, Bench, Superdry, Henleys, Timberland, Diesel and Puma and are constantly scouring the marketplace for new brands and new deals for our customers.
Our customers are incredibly loyal to our brand. In Jan 2010 we came 5th overall in a customer satisfaction survey of the UK’s top 40 online retailers (www.foreseeresults.com) and we are consistently ranked within the Hitwise top 6 for clothing apparel and sportswear.
We have also won numerous industry awards… and swept the board at the 2010 Drapers E tail awards with 3 wins.
Europe
In 2009 we developed a new European website and now sell our products in Ireland, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Luxembourg and Monaco.
We are also expanding into the Nordic countries.
More recently, we have launched a German language website www.mandmdirect.de.

National press advertisements feature offering specific clothing and footwear.

The company begins trading as M and M Sports.
1994
Business flourishes, site in Leominster purchased. Business transfers from Stourbridge.
1998
MandMSports.com launched
2002
Mike Tomkins joins company.
2004
Management buy−out led by Mike Tomkins in partnership with ECI Partners LLP.
Sales pass £40M.
2005
Company name changed to M and M Direct to reflect the move towards fashion offering.
Partnership developed with Teenage Cancer Trust.
Sales pass £50M.
2006
Sales pass £60M.

US Private Equity TA Associates complete a major investment in M and M Direct Ltd.
Steve Robinson formerly CEO of Tesco Direct takes over as CEO.
